Joshua Pincus
President and Business Manager

Joshua is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. Even though his schedule is packed with demanding high school and college courses, he still maintains an extremely high GPA. In the past, he has taken AP Psychology and AP Spanish Language. Joshua has taken Spanish 1 through Spanish 5 and also Humanities for Spanish Speakers, then the AP for Spanish. He is fluent in Spanish as a result of the courses taken through his high school career and traveling globally to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Not satisfied by just excelling academically, he holds many officer positions as well. This year, Joshua will be co-founding a club at Cypress Bay called the Project Beisbol Club, which is an organization that collects used baseball equipment to give to the less fortunate. Also, Joshua will be the Director of Fundraising for P.R.I.D.E. and in the past has held officer positions in P.R.I.D.E. and Spanish Honor Society. Joshua enjoys challenging himself and is committed to providing you with the best customer service possible. Ilana Sperling
Executive Secretary

Ilana is a sophomore at Cypress Bay High School. She is the executive secretary at You Ask, We Tutor, assisting with incoming and outgoing calls, and the processing of payments. When Joshua is away, Ilana is the person who will be answering and returning phone calls. She is a devoted member of our team and looks forward to speaking with every client. Out of work, she is a staff writer for the Cypress Bay High School student run newspaper, and throughly enjoys dancing. Her schedule at school is rigorous and she is placed among the top of her class.

Alex Sugarman
Alex is a senior at Cypress Bay High School and is in the top percentile of his class. Alex is currently is taking many AP classes and has worked his way up through the entire math curriculum in the school, finishing with AP Statistics this year. During the summer, he studied at the University of Florida in their Leadership and Sustainability program, bringing a newfound optimism and take charge attitude about helping the community at large. Alex has been a tutor for Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society. His experience in being both a tutor and tutee shape him to be a great assistant for learning.

Alex Weiss
Alex is a sophomore at Cypress Bay High School. Alex ranks very highly in his class and is a dedicated, hard working student. He is currently taking AP Psychology and is working his way very successfully through the rigorous math curriculums at Cypress Bay. Alex always strives to take a demanding course load. Alex is active in many clubs such as Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, and Red Watch Band. He holds many officer positions. He looks forward to tutoring kids especially in different math areas as well as Spanish. Alex enjoys helping others and works well with other students.
 
Andrew Savitz
Andrew is a senior at Cypress Bay High School who is continuing his involvement within the community, inside and outside of school. He maintains a rigorous courseload which includes AP Biology, AP Macro/Micro, AP English Literature, and AP Government. He has taken AP American History, AP English Language and Composition, AP European History, and AP Psychology. In the past Andrew has held several leadership roles in STAND: A Student Led Anti-Genocide Coalition and TOUCHY (Temple Youth Group). This year he will continue some of those extracurricular activities while also carrying out new responsibilities as President of Rho Kappa, Cypress Bay's Social Studies Honor Society. It is his hope this year to be able to help those seeking assistance with their Social Studies and History courses as it is these subjects he often finds most exciting to learn about.

Anna Pincus
Anna Pincus is currently a sophomore at Cypress Bay High School. She is currently in the top of her class and has received high marks in all of her classes. Anna challenges herself with difficult courses, and is taking AP Psychology and AP Spanish this year. She competed in a Spanish competition, where she earned three different awards. Anna also excels at math and has tutored extensively in Algebra and Geometry. She has taken Algebra I Honors and Algebra II Honors and is more than capable in tutoring each of those subjects. Aside from excelling academically, Anna is also involved in numerous clubs. She is the assistant finance director in PRIDE, and the treasurer of Project Beisbol Club. In her free time she enjoys playing music and spending time with friends. She takes every commitment she has seriously, allowing her to not only excel, but also be able to help others succeed as well.

Brittany Zeidel
Brittany is currently a sophomore at Cypress Bay and is ranked among the top of her class. She takes many advanced courses including Chemistry Honors, AP Psychology, and Pre-calculus. Brittany writes for Cypress Bay’s newspaper, The Circuit, and is a very active member of the staff. Next year, she aspires to become an editor for the paper. She really enjoys reading and writing and has done extremely well in prior English classes that she has taken. Basketball has also become something she loves to watch and participate in during her free time. Brittany is responsible and fully prepared to assist in helping anyone she tutors succeed.

Carina Flores
Carina Flores is a senior at Cypress Bay High School. She is currently in the top five percent of her class. Carina has taken every math course up to AP Calculus, all Spanish courses up to AP Spanish, and all science courses up to Physics Honors. Currently she is taking AP Chemistry and has hopes of becoming an environmental scientist in the future. Carina is taking AP Government and Economics as well. Aside from her rigorous academic schedule, Carina is also a vital part of Cypress Bay's SGA executive board where she chairs many school events, and is a member of Best Buddies and Spanish Honor Society. Prior to working with You Ask, We Tutor, Carina has tutored many of her friends in all core subjects. She enjoys helping people excel in their schoolwork and daily lives, and is elated when people are able to succeed with her assistance.

Daniel Croitoru
Daniel is a very dedicated junior at Cypress Bay High. Among other rigorous classes, Daniel is currently enrolled in AP classes such as Calculus, Chemistry, and English. These diverse courses make Daniel a very well rounded student and highly qualified to tutor in a wide range of subjects. Before joining us, Daniel was a tutor in algebra and chemistry and continues to tutor for Cypress Bay's Science National Honor Society. Daniel is currently parliamentarian of the Spanish Club and treasurer of Psychology Honor Society. Among these clubs, he is also a member of the Spanish, Science, and National honor societies at Cypress Bay, and a leader in his youth movement. Being ranked in the top 5% of his class, Daniel hopes to one day attend a prestigious university in the north, but for the near future his goal is to maintain high marks in his AP classes and help as many students do the same.

Evan Schlossman
Evan is a current senior at Cypress Bay high school. Academically he is number 11 in his class of 963 students. He maintains a weighted GPA of over 5.2 and will have taken 13 AP exams by the end of this year. For his excellence in these classes Evan has received the “AP scholar with Distinction,” award. Additionally, Evan has experience in tutoring acquired by running Cypress Bay high school's science tutoring department and actively participating in Mu Alpha Theta’s (Math Honor Society) tutoring. On top of his rigorous schedule, Evan has excelled in debate on the national level, is president of the National Honor Society, a co-president of Cypress Bay’s model United Nations, and the lead research assistant determining the efficacy of "neurofeedback" as a treatment for children with ADHD. Evan not only comprehensively understands the material needed to teach but has the experience and ability to convey the information effectively.

Gal Stilman
Gal is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. His rigorous course load of AP classes allows him to be ranked as the Valedictorian in his senior class. Gal prides himself as being an AP Scholar with Distinction and has scored a five, the highest score possible on every AP exam he has taken. He has a strong background in math and history, and much work experience tutoring. He is a very patient student, and loves to help others achieve success in their studies.

Gerardo Parraga
Gerardo is a sophmore at Cypress Bay High School and is extremely involved within the community. Gerardo is at the top of his class and takes many advanced courses including AP Human Geography and AP Spanish. He is fully bilingual (reads, writes, and speaks) in both Spanish and English. Gerardo excels in mathematics where he has taken all the math courses up to Calculus. He is also gifted in history, English, Spanish, and science courses. Gerardo participates in many clubs at Cypress Bay including the Spanish Honors Society and HOSA. During his free time, Gerardo loves to play soccer for Weston FC, be with his friends and family, and perform community service hours. He has a weighted GPA of 4.9 and is 19th in his class. Gerardo is not only extremely intelligent but he is responsible, ready, and prepared to tutor anyone that needs his assistance to help everyone reach their full potential as students.

Jasmin Geevarghese

Jasmin Geevarghese is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. She tries to challenge herself by taking on an ambitious course load, serving as a club officer for three clubs, staying involved with her Church, and spending time with family and friends. Jasmin is very academically dedicated and maintains a 5.1 weighted GPA. Hoping to attend an accelerated undergraduate medical program at a university, Jasmin has maintained a strong work-ethic throughout her high school career. Jasmin is currently taking AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP US Government, AP Macro/Micro- Economics, and Debate. She has also successfully taken AP Psychology, AP Spanish Language, AP US History, and AP Calculus AB. Having received the AP Scholar with Honor Award from the College Board, Jasmin enjoys helping others reach their full potential as students. Additionally, community service is an important aspect to Jasmin’s life. Jasmin is the Vice-President of the National Honor Society chapter at Cypress Bay and loves working for causes that will benefit the community. Jasmin understands the value of education for the welfare of both herself and others in the community and hopes to become a physician; if Jasmin becomes a doctor, she would like to travel to impoverished areas of the world in countries like Haiti, Africa, or India to provide free health care. In her free time, Jasmin loves to spend time with friends and family, go running, draw, paint, and listen to music.

 

 

Jason Finkelstein
Jason is a senior at Cypress Bay High School who has maintained a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA throughout his high school career. After completing his current schedule of AP Physics C, AP Biology, and AP Government/Economics, he will have taken 13 AP classes. Jason has been teaching private drum lessons for five years, strengthening his one on one mentoring skills. His students have complimented him on his personable manner as well as practical approach. Adding to his responsibilities, he is also the Vice President of the social studies honors society (Rho Kappa). Jason hopes to combine his two biggest passions by pursuing an education in the mathematical/scientific perspective of music, and to one day become an audio engineer.

Jisha Zacharia
Jisha Zacharia is currently a senior at College Academy, where she is taking courses to graduate with her Associates Degree along with her high school diploma. Planning to pursue a profession in medicine, she is currently taking college-level chemistry and biology classes and enjoys them very much. Throughout her middle and high school years she has taken extensive math courses from Pre-Algebra all the way up to Calc I (college-level). She enjoys helping others with schoolwork and has helped both middle and high school students after school with math trouble through the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honors Society at Cypress Bay High School.

Kevin Masaro
Kevin is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. Kevin stands among the top of his class, maintaining a high GPA, and has taken many AP classes. This year, he is taking AP European History, AP Government, and AP Economics, among other challenging courses. In the past, he has taken many other AP classes such as AP Calculus AB, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, AP English Language, and AP U.S. History. All of these rigorous courses have not stopped him from participating in extracurricular activities though; Kevin has been the Assistant Captain of the Cypress Bay Varsity Ice Hockey team since sophomore year and he strives to be the Captain in his senior year. He also participates in many clubs and organizations outside of school and in school, such as the Social Studies Honor Society (Rho Kappa) and non-profit organization, Athletes Helping Athletes, which helps underprivileged kids. All in all, Kevin is certainly a well-rounded active member of society who is an extremely qualified tutor that can’t wait to help your child succeed.

Lauren Blonde
Lauren is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School and ranked among the top in her class. Having already taken six AP courses, and being enrolled in five more AP courses this year, Lauren has finished all math courses available at Cypress Bay and continues to challenge herself in preparation for next year. During her time in high school, Lauren has been debating since freshman year and is a nationally ranked senator in Student Congress and is currently serving as co-president of the Cypress Bay Debate Club, as well as president of the English Honor Society. Apart from speech and debate, Lauren has also been competing on the school’s Math Team since freshman year. With a passion for math, science, language, and politics, Lauren hopes to help students better understand and enjoy the subjects, and promulgate them each as educational criterion for successful students.


Lauren Smith
Lauren is a senior at Cypress Bay High School in the top two percent of her class. She has taken the most rigorous course load Cypress has to offer including AP Spanish, AP Calculus BC, and AP English Literature. Lauren has also dedicated herself to her extracurricular activities and community service. Currently, Lauren serves as President of her temple’s youth group and has amassed 1056 community service hours. Lauren enjoys tutoring and finding new and innovative methods for teaching and studying

Lisa Altman
Lisa is a sophomore at Cypress Bay and is ranked among the top in her class. She is taking Physics and English Honors in addition to AP Spanish, and is a staff writer for The Circuit. She hopes to be an editor for the paper next year. As a freshman, Lisa took AP Human Geography and got a 5 on the exam, the highest score possible on an AP exam. She has been exceptional in every Spanish class she has taken since seventh grade and enjoys tutoring in the subject, as well as in Chemistry and English. She is involved in Spanish Honor Society and is the Art Director of the Debbie’s Dream Club. Lisa plans on taking several AP classes for the duration of high school, and is punctual, patient, and cares that whoever she tutors achieves success in their studies.

Matt Meyer
Matt is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. Throughout high school he has taken numerous AP courses in varying subjects, while doing exceptionally well in all of them. His high capacity for learning is what puts him at the top of his class and gives him a great ability to tutor any type of student in many subject areas. Tutoring experience in Mu Alpha Theta as well as patience while working with others have prepared him to work for "You Ask, We Tutor." Matt is very personable and will do what it takes to make sure his student succeeds.

Megan Hirsh
Megan is currently a sophomore at Cypress Bay High School. She has a rigorous schedule, being far ahead the majority of her class in mathematics and is currently taking two AP classes (European History and Psychology). Megan excels in all of her courses, currently maintaining high "A" averages in all of them. She is in the top 2 percent of her class. She is involved in Mu Alpha Theta, where she has tutored at many different levels of math. Megan is actively involved in the debate club and has traveled to Harvard, Bronx Science, the University of Florida, Columbia University, and the University of Texas for debate. She is currently ranked 30 in the nation for her event. She is involved in student government and is organized, punctual, hard-working, and has had much success
as a tutor.

Michael Cohen
Michael Cohen is a student at David Posnack Jewish Day School, where he holds a position as one of the top students in his class. Michael has taken AP Human Geography and is currently taking AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, AP United States History, and AP English Language. Michael is extremely proficient in all math subjects, chemistry, and physics. In addition to academics, Michael also busies himself with clubs and sports, which include the National Honors Society, Thespians, Model UN, and the Cross-Country team. Michael's love of science and his natural mastery of mathematics makes him a great tutor. 

 

 

Ryan Geffin
Ryan is a senior at Cypress Bay High School and ranked in the top two percent of his class. He has taken seven AP courses throughout his high school career and passed all of them. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, the high school's ice and roller hockey team, and  he is the co-founder and president of a non-profit organization called Athletes Helping Athletes. Ryan is a devoted student, and will put the proper time into any student he tutors.

Sophie Schummer
As a sophomore at Cypress Bay High School, Sophie has a weighted GPA of over 5.0, ranking her within the top 1% of her class, and holds an officer position as the treasurer of H.E.L.P club. As a Venezuelan, born in Caracas, she is completely fluent in Spanish, both in speaking and writing. She has taken every Spanish course, and is currently in AP Spanish. Among other rigorous classes, Sophie has also taken every math course up to Pre-Calculus, and is presently taking AP Psychology. She is a member of both the English and Spanish Honor Societies, and has an officer position in the club, Debbie’s Dream. Sophie is on the Cypress Bay lacrosse team, and has previously played many years of competitive soccer for Weston Fury. She also enjoys playing guitar, and both of the clubs in which she has an officer position are dedicated to helping others, which is something else that she loves to do. Sophie has had prior experience as a tutor and can’t wait to help every single person she tutors succeed.

Tomy Patrich
Tomy Patrich is currently a junior at Cypress Bay High School. He was born in Argentina and is fluent in Spanish and English. Although his schedule includes several demanding Advanced Placement classes, he is involved in many extracurricular activities as well, including National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Ecology Club, soccer and marching band. He maintains a very high GPA, is in the top five percent of his class and is a drum major for the Cypress Bay Sound of Thunder Marching Band. Tomy attended Northwestern University over the past two summers to take college courses, including Neuroscience and Forensic Psychology. He also founded a project called "Just One Text" in order to prevent drivers from texting and driving. In the future, Tomy hopes to attend the University of Pennsylvania and become a Neurosurgeon.

Tony Gonzalez
Tony is currently a senior at Cypress Bay High School. He has a palette of knowledge derived from the rigorous AP courses he has taken throughout his has school career, and will be graduating with the “AP Scholar with Honor Award”. Tony also has a variety of after school activities that broaden his knowledge on his subjects of interest, including Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society), Cypress Bay Model UN, and Psychology Honor Society. Within his testing career in terms of English and comprehension of text, Tony has earned a perfect score of 800 on his reading SAT and a 5 on his AP English Language exam. As he has already completed the college application process, Tony may also provide assistance with college essay writing, as well as AP essays. A key point in Tony’s tutoring strategy involves conveying the importance of relevancy when observing a text, a key element that when utilize may allow a student to achieve greater success in the analysis literature, essays, speeches, etc… Aside from academics, Tony is a fun loving student and one of the leading officers of Cypress Bay’s Ultimate Frisbee club. After high school, Tony wants to study medicine and become an author of medical theories and advancements, as well as a specialized physician.

Tyler Gibbs
Tyler is currently a sophomore at Cypress Bay High. He is ranked in the top two percent of the class. He has a rigorous schedule consisting of AP Psychology, AP European History, and Pre-calculus. Tyler has always maintained high A’s in all of his classes. Tyler is well qualified to tutor students; he has been helping his friends in all subjects for years. He is a member and tutor for Mu Alpha Theta, a member of the debate club, and assistant treasurer for Best Buddies. He is more than capable to tutor many subjects; however, he mostly enjoys helping people with math.
